In October and November, Latvian and Estonian companies, participating in the business support programme Export Express, went on trade missions to Finland and Sweden.
During 15-17th October companies participated in trade mission to Finland. The aim of the trade mission was for companies to learn about Finnish market and exports, as well as to meet potential cooperation partners. For the trade mission to Finland export consulting company Gateway&Partners organized 34 meetings and the companies have returned from their business trips with positive feedback, potential business opportunities and learnings.
On 29-30th October participants from Latvia and Estonia visited Sweden. There were 27 meetings organized with potential partners in Stockholm, Goteborg, Helsingborg, Osby, Falun.
In the second trade mission to Sweden, a common seminar for all participants was held in Stockholm with Mr. Jacob Lalander, director of JL Baltic. The discussed topics were: the main differences between business culture in Baltics and Scandinavia, advice and tips on how to have a successful first meeting and what to expect after it. During a 2-day visit to Sweden, 16 meetings were arranged in the largest cities of Sweden: Stockholm, Malmo and Gothenburg.
The programme is implemented by the leading export agency in the Baltic States – Gateway&Partners and business support organisations – Ventspils High Technology Park, Valmiera Development Agency, Business and Development Centre of Pärnu County, Tartu Science Park.
